Sport–specific training in its current concept is a means of simulating a movement or exercise in the weight room with the intention of it transferring to the playing field, regardless of what that field is.
You could argue that off season training is the most important phase of any sport-specific conditioning plan. Not only will it help the athlete to recover physically and psychologically, it can be used to address some of the physical imbalances that are inherent with playing competitive sport. We will accomplish this by incorporating 3-phases of training Endurance/ Cardiovascular training, Strength/Resistance training, and Flexibility/ Mobility training.
Off-Season Football Academy – Teens 13-18
This 6-week program is divided into five phases, which build upon each other to increase your strength, size and power, and to make you a better overall player on the field. Fitness tests performed at the NFL combines will be assessed and re-tested. Learn from the experience of our coaches who have played in the NFL and NCAA Division I football programs. Attend a private Q & A session with our staff on the final day. Get information of how to get noticed by college scouts and tips of how to make a standout recruitment video.
Phase 1: Stability and Endurance – Correct muscle imbalances caused by injuries sustained during a grueling season, and build a foundation for heavy lifting and more advanced exercises.
Phase 2: Strength and Endurance – Continue building a solid foundation with strength exercises to prepare for more advanced workouts.
Phase 3: Building Muscle – Build as much muscle as possible, increase strength and cut body fat to enable you to tackle harder, block better and overpower opponents.
Phase 4: Maximum Strength Training – Develop as much muscular strength as possible so you can out-muscle and over-match your opponents.
Phase 5: Power Training – Transfer strength into game-speed power so you can apply more force in faster bursts.
