CrossFit Kids was developed to help kids to grow up healthy, strong and develop a lifelong love of fitness which will give them the right foundation to avoid common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity. CrossFit Kids is not simply a scaled down version of CrossFit, it is entirely absolutely CrossFit geared and designed for a special population and the specific developmental needs of that population (neurological, cognitive, and motor). CrossFit Kids classes are designed with the unique needs of young athletes in mind, and combine skill practice, workouts and fun games that focus on building strength and conditioning. Our classes include elements of gymnastics, martial arts/karate, weight lifting, body weight movements, running, jump roping, and more – all in a fun and safe environment.Healthy living requires that our kids push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, and jump effectively and safely regardless of their athletic ability. In order for kids to learn and succeed in other sports, they need to start with the basics, which is exactly the reason we teach using the 10 General Physical Skills that are the base for any sport or discipline that children participate in.
What does this mean?
This means that, for the most part, no two workouts are the same, so kids and teens never get bored and the novelty of each workout keeps them motivated to participate. The functional movements involve exercises that are fundamental to all things that kids need to do when they play- pull, push, run, throw, climb, lift and jump. All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under the close supervision of CrossFit Kids coaches. When fitness is defined as broad, inclusive and general it means that participants will become well-rounded athletes who will be better at any and every sport that they play because CrossFit Kids doesn’t coach them to be good at just one thing. Our workouts will increase physical competence in 10 fitness domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.

3 Reasons to try CrossFit Kids – Age Appropriate Programming
CrossFit Kids: Young Avengers (ages 4-6) – 35 mins.
Our youngest athletes are a special group. At this age, children are experiencing a tremendous amount of cognitive and motor development. Our CrossFit Cadets classes are designed to support this development in a playful environment, imparting the valuable lesson that fitness is both important and fun at an early age.
Our curriculum is heavily focused on fitness through play, with an eye toward appropriate functional movement. Early lessons in teaming, camaraderie, and achieving goals are emphasized with constant positive reinforcement. The dynamic structure and relatively short duration of each class ensures that every child, regardless of ability or developmental phase will receive the maximum benefits possible at each class.
CrossFit Kids: Superhero Training (ages 7-12) – 45 mins
At this age CrossFit teaches not only basic physical skills, but also social skills and confidence. Children learn foundation movements like the squat, pushups, pull ups, climbing, jumping, and elementary gymnastic movements.
More importantly, you will see your child also learns to follow directions, listen, communicate, and play with others. Every class includes game play and positive reinforcement. Your child’s confidence, both physically and mentally, will grow with each class.
This age group is on the road to becoming “Superheroes” in CrossFit and in life. The skills they learn are more detailed and may involve light weights. Exercises will include plyometrics, gymnastics, weight lifting basics, speed and agility, rowing, and stretching.
CrossFit Kids includes a focus on leadership skills. As children progress through the program, they will be asked to model movements, lead exercises, and demonstrate an ability to verbally explain exercises.
CrossFit Teens (ages 13 and up)- 45-60 mins.
CrossFit Teens is a core-strength and conditioning program designed for the teenage athlete looking for an edge over the competition. Classes combine weightlifting, body weight movements, plyometrics, running and rowing in a constantly varied, highly intense class. Our goal is to improve the athlete’s strength and endurance as well as focus and perseverance.
While this age group will begin to work with heavier loads, over longer time frames and at higher intensity, safety is of course the priority. Under the careful guidance of a CrossFit instructor, teens will learn not just how to get stronger and fitter but also the importance of working as a team, of setting goals and attaining them, and the benefit of seeing health and fitness as a lifetime pursuit. Whether your teen is looking for off-season strength and conditioning or year-round fitness, our program will challenge them to become the best athletes possible.
Chino CrossFit Kids is designed for EVERY child to experience and celebrate progress. As you watch your child grow in ability and confidence, you will also see them learn that work results in success.
